Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a fire at a Lincoln baptist church, which is believed to have been caused deliberately.

The suspected arson occurred at the Thomas Cooper Memorial Baptist Church on Lincoln High Street at just after 7.15pm on Friday, April 29.

Police believe the fire was started by an unknown offender who put clothing against a door and set fire to it.

Thankfully, it was spotted and extinguished by a member of staff and no injuries were caused to the people inside, many of whom were children.

Anyone with information about who started the fire should contact Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 356 of April 29.
