A woman has died following the discovery of a car in the water in Lincolnshire early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Horncastle Road area of Boston at 7.45am on Tuesday, May 24, and found the woman seriously injured in a submerged car.
She was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are not in a position to be able to name the woman but she is from the Boston area and believed to be aged 70. Her next of kin have been made aware.”
Lincolnshire Police remain on the scene while the investigation into the circumstances continues.
