The weekend saw over 30 modified soapboxes and gravity bikes race down a winding course in the village of Coleby near Lincoln.

The Coleby Downhill Challenge returned for the second time on June 11 and 12 after the success of the first event in 2014, where 12 soapboxes took part and £1,400 was raised for charity.

This year, bigger and better soapboxes, sidecars and gravity bikes (bikes fuelled only by gravity) signed up to put their speedsters to the test, and audiences were not disappointed.

The course snaked down Coleby Hill, and was described in by racers as “one of the best in the country” in 2014.

The Corbey Downhill Challenge wowed spectators as racers managed to reach speeds of over 40 miles per hour.
