Plans for a new £250,000 trampoline park in Scunthorpe have been submitted.

The Air Kings Trampoline park would be 11,500 sq ft and would include a large open bounce area, slam dunk hoops, air bag, dodgeball court and ninja warrior course.

A planning application for the change of use of the building on Atkinson Way has been submitted and hopes are that it will be accepted within the next few weeks.

The site in Scunthorpe will be similar to the Doncaster trampoline park.

The park is expected to create up to 40 jobs, with 10 full time jobs and approximately 30 part time jobs.

The idea for a park in Scunthorpe was a mutual one between business partners: Jake Pendlebury and Glenn Bath, who, after market research in other towns and cities, said the move to Scunthorpe “felt right”.

Work on the park is set to commence as soon as planning is accepted, and the opening date is hoped for the end of September/early October.

Air Kings Scunthorpe will be the first Trampoline park in the North Lincolnshire area, with the nearest park being in Doncaster.

Jack Pendlebury, Director for Airkings told Lincolnshire Reporter: “After a lot of research we found that Scunthorpe would be the perfect location for our second park and we hope to welcome bouncers from areas even further afield such as Cleethorpes and Grimsby.

“Not only are trampoline parks heaps of fun for all the family, but the health benefits are amazing too, with bouncers burning up to 1,000 calories per hour so we hope to contribute to a healthier, happier Scunthorpe.”
