Search for masked robber in Grimsby

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following a robbery at the Costcutter store in Ripon Street, Grimsby on Wednesday, July 6. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following a robbery at the Costcutter store in Ripon Street, Grimsby on Wednesday, July 6.

A report was made to police at 8.20pm from staff at the store stating that a masked man had entered the shop, made threats to staff whilst wielding an empty bottle of beer, causing them to retreat to a place of safety.

The man went on to enter the till area and take alcohol and scratch cards. He also broke open the till, removed the tray and its contents and made off from the store with all the items in the direction of Lord Street.

No-one was injured during the incident although staff were alarmed and distressed by the actions of the man.

Police attended the incident and undertook area searches, however the man has as yet not been located.

Further enquiries are ongoing to retrieve further evidence whilst detectives are appealing for anyone who may know the identity of the man entering the store to get in touch.

Anyone finding discarded items from the robbery are also asked to contact police.
