A van driver has admitted causing the death of a Lincolnshire motorcyclist when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, July 18.

Stephen Day, 45, of Cookson Close, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving following the incident just outside the village of Baston near Bourne on October 19, 2015.

Motorcyclist Steven Bristow, 42, who lived at Church Walk in Bourne, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision near to the Waterside Garden Centre.

Recorder Paul Mann QC adjourned sentence for a probation report and Day was given an interim driving ban.

Day was granted bail to appear back before the Crown Court for sentence on August 18.
