Elderly woman dies in two-vehicle crash near Caistor

An elderly woman, who suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash near Caistor at the weekend, has sadly died. An elderly woman, who suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash near Caistor at the weekend, has sadly died.

As previously reported, the crash happened on Sunday, August 21 at around 4pm at Fonaby Top, off the A1173.

The collision, which was between a white Ford Focus and an orange Kia Sportage saw three casualties receiving serious injuries.

One woman, 73, who is from North Lincolnshire, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary. She has now sadly died from these injuries.

The three people with injuries were taken to Hull Infirmary and one to Grimsby Hospital and one person was able to attend a hospital without assistance.

Ewan Gell, Senior Investigating Officer at Lincolnshire Police, said: “We are still investigating this incident and we need anyone who hasn’t yet come forward to get in touch.

“If you were at this location at 4pm and saw either the white Ford travelling towards Caistor from the direction of Humberside Airport, or the orange Kia heading towards Brocklesbury, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 276 of August 21.”
