Two people suspected of stealing a 4×4 in Skegness ended up in a rather humiliating position before being arrested by police this afternoon.

The stolen car somehow ended up balancing on what remained of a three foot high wall, which proved a useful blockade when the driver attempted to reverse.

A photograph of the shocking getaway blunder was posted on social media by Lincolnshire Coast Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Colin Haigh.

He confirmed two people had been arrested. No injured have been reported.
