A convicted murderer has escaped from HM Prison North Sea Camp near Boston.

Stuart Brownhill, 59, was found to be absent at the 5am roll call this morning.

He is described as 5’8 ft tall, bald, he has a green right eye and a blue left eye.

It is believed he may be wearing a brown jacket and black boots.

Police are asking anyone who sees him not to approach him but call the emergency 999 number.

Stuart Brownhill killed Lynne Taylor while her 11-year-old son was asleep at her home in Oldham, Greater Manchester, in 1984, nine days after he was released from prison.

He was given a life sentence at Manchester crown court in 1985 and had most recently been held at North Sea Camp open prison.

Superintendent Paul Timmins also said: “I appeal directly to Stuart to get in touch with us. I also ask for anyone who knows where Stuart Brownhill is to call us.”

If you have seen him or have other information that will help officers return him back to custody please call on the non emergency number 101.
