A man has been jailed after crashing a car into a house in Lincoln in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Deivdas Vorobejus, 25, of Cannon Street Lincoln, was sentenced at Crown Court this week after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and aggravated vehicle taking (dangerous driving).

As reported previously, police were called to the scene of the smash on Long Leys Road at around 2.19am on January 1.

A blue Peugeot 406 had left the road and slammed into the house, causing significant damage to a front room window and items inside.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash.

Vorobejus was initially arrested, after fleeing the scene, with police suspecting he had been driving whist unfit through drink or drugs.

He was sentenced on Tuesday, September 13 to nine months imprisonment and disqualified from driving for three years, four months and two weeks – and after an extended re-test has been passed.
