Two people have been hospitalised following a serious crash involving a car and a lorry near Dunham Bridge this morning.

Police were called to the incident at around 5.44am on Friday, September 16 at the A57 crossroads at Newton on Trent near Dunham Toll Bridge.

Nottingham Fire and Rescue reported that one person was trapped in the collision and fire crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof from the vehicle.

Lincolnshire Police have reported that two people were injured in the crash and have been taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

Injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was temporarily closed but has now been re-opened.
