Over 80 new parking spaces open at The Lawn in Lincoln

Over 80 new parking paces have been opened for use at The Lawn in uphill Lincoln. Over 80 new parking paces have been opened for use at The Lawn in uphill Lincoln.

The former green public space at the rear of the building on off Union Road has been turned into additional parking spaces, an expansion on the current car park.

The spaces adjacent to the play area bring the total number available to 190.

The car park expansion has been developed as part of the sale of The Lawn from City of Lincoln Council to Stokes earlier this year.

Plans for the site also include development of a headquarters for the coffee company, shop, cafe and restaurant.

Steve Bird, Assistant Director for Communities and Street Scene at the city council, said: “We are aware of the desire for more parking spaces in the city during the transport hub works and especially in the run up to Christmas.

“Expanding parking at The Lawn at this important point in the trading year will benefit Lincoln residents and visitors alike, providing them with a better opportunity to explore many of the independent businesses in the uphill part of the city.”

Parking tariffs at The Lawn are as follows:

  • Up to 1 hour: £1.60
  • Up to 2 hours: £2.60
  • Up to 3 hour: £4.50
  • Up to 4 hour: £5.50
  • All day: £7.50
  • Evening charge (starting at 6pm): £2.60.
