A new school has officially been opened in North Hykeham by CBBC presenter Christopher Johnson.

On Thursday, January 5, Manor Farm Academy held its official opening, which saw Christopher Johnson, from CBBC and The New Theatre Royal’s current production of Cinderella, cut the ribbon.

Year 6 prefects from Witham St Hughs Academy, the academy’s partner school, also spoke about what the children might be able to expect from their journey through the academy.

In September 2016, Manor Farm Academy opened its doors for the first time to 30 Reception pupils.

It is forecast to increase in numbers until it reaches full capacity in 2022.

After the official ceremony, which was led by Headteacher Amanda Griffiths, the Reception pupils released balloons to mark this special occasion.
