Residents watched on in shock as a large car park wall on Riverside Drive in Lincoln crumbled onto a car under the force of Storm Doris.

The peak of the storm is continuing to batter Lincoln and the rest of the county, uprooting trees and causing a number of travel disruptions across the network.

The Lincolnite was contacted at around 12.10pm on Thursday, February 23 by resident of the Riverside Drive flats, behind the post office, Jamie Lamotta.

He described how the wall along north side of the car park had blown over onto the car. “Storm Dorris is having a huge effect outside my apartment. Thankfully no one was hurt. That poor lady’s car.”

Wind speeds were measuring 56mph at Scampton at 12.08 according to latest readings.
