MPs scrutinising the government’s proposals for leaving the European Union will visit Boston on February 2 to hear from residents who live and work in the country’s Brexit heartland.

Members of the cross-party Exiting the EU Committee will be speaking to councillors and businesses in the town before hosting a public roundtable to explore what Brexit means to Boston.

Boston recorded the highest majority of Brexit voters in Britain, voting by 75.6% to leave the EU.

Lincolnshire as a county also voted decisively to leave in the referendum held on June 23.

Pro Brexit committee members such as Dominic Raab and Lincoln MP Karl McCartney will be joined by Remain supporters Pat McFadden and committee chair Hilary Benn at the event.

The public event from 2.10pm to 3.30pm at the Len Medlock Centre on St George’s Road is free to attend, but attendees will have to book via Eventbrite.
