He said: “I’ve been a fan ever since I was born.

“It’s an amazing achievement for the club to get this far, and I absolutely believe that now we’ll make it into the league.”

Despite his loyalty to his home team, Matt didn’t hold out much hope of the club making it to the semi-finals. He said: “I’d like to think we’ll nip it 1-0 at the end, but realistically I think it will be 3-1 to Arsenal.”

Matt wasn’t alone with his predictions. Behind him in the queue stood fans Neil and Alan, who have been supporters of the club for 30 years and 50 years respectively and who had also been queuing since the early hours of the morning.

Alan said: ” We’ll do Arsenal! No, not really. We can dream though. That’s why we’re all here, we’re all dreamers.”

“None of the fans who are stood here now would have imagined where we were going to end up.”

Despite knowing the odds against his team winning, Neil also stayed positive. He said: “It’s still brilliant. It’s the best season ever. I can’t believe we’ve got this far. I’m really enjoying it.”

Lincoln City were allocated just under 9,000 tickets for the game. Tickets for the game went on sale at 10am on Wednesday, March 1 to members, available to purchase at the stadium.

Admission prices and priority arrangements are available to view in full on the Lincoln City FC website.

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2 on Saturday, March 11 with 5:30pm kick off.
