Every year, attractions around the county open their doors for free over one weekend to ensure visitors can Discover Lincolnshire.

On the weekend on March 18 and 19, visitors to the county can discover Lincolnshire’s heritage, from tours around our mills, to walks through the historic landscape.

Cogglesford Watermill

Location: East Road, Sleaford, NG34 7EQ

The watermill in the market town of Sleaford will be open with free entry from 11am – 4.30pm over the weekend.

Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre

Location: Heath Farm, North Rauceby, Sleaford

The heritage centre at RAF Cranwell will be open with free entry from 11am – 4.30pm over the weekend.

Discover the history through interactive exhibits, archive film, story boards and artefacts.

Gainsborough Old Hall

There will be free external tours of the Old Hall at 12pm and 2pm over the weekend.

Customers who pay for entry to the site will get a free filter coffee or pot of tea.

Heckington Windmill

The world’s only eight-sailed working windmill will be open for free over the weekend from 12pm to 5pm.

National Centre of Craft and Design

Exhibitions include: 3D Printing: The Good, The Bad & The Beautiful, What Do I Need To Do To Make It OK?, Syann Van Niftrik: Dropped

Events which will take place on March 18 include: Curators opening talk for What Do I Need To Do To Make It OK? And Louise West lace making demonstration in the shop.

The Old Nick

Location: Spring Gardens, Gainsborough, DN21 2AX

There will be free guided tours of this fascinating Grade II Listed, Victorian Police Station and Magistrates’ Court, last used in the 1970s, over the weekend from 11am to 3pm.

Visit the cells and learn about the inmates, their crimes, and their punishments.

This 19th century canal company office on the River Slea – thought to be the only of its kind still in existence – will be open with free entry from 11am – 4.30pm over the weekend.

Grimsby Fishing Heritage

Location:Alexandra Road, Grimsby, DN31 1UZ

Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre will also be open free of charge for Discover Lincolnshire weekend.

This will include a guided tour of the iconic Great Grimsby trawler Ross Tiger, in her 60th year this year! The ship is not accessible to children under five and is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Manor House Stables

Free taster day event at the Manor House Stables on Sunday March 19 from 10am – 5pm.

Come and have a go at making and baking something. Activities which will be happening throughout the day include; bread, jam, cheese and chocolate making.

There will also be an opportunity to learn how to make natural bath and beauty products.
