Days look to be numbered for five Brantano stores and concessions in Lincolnshire after closing down signs were plastered across the windows of the retail chain.

Stores in Lincoln, Grimsby and Spalding are holding closing down sales with significant discounts across all stock after the national company went into administration for a second time.

The brand, which also owns two concessions in Skegness and Spalding, employing 36 members of staff, was taken over by administrators PriceWaterhouseCooper (PwC) in March.

While no closing dates have been agreed for the Lincolnshire stores, administrators are ‘assessing interest’ in the business and a decision was made this week to offer discounts across all stores.

Administrators are still pursuing a sale of the company, which is responsible for more than 1,000 jobs across the country.

Tony Barrell, lead administrator at PwC, said: “Our trading strategy reflects our continued focus on engaging in ongoing discussions with interested parties about the potential sale of parts of the business, whilst seeking to optimise trading performance across all stores.

“We will continue to evaluate our strategy as the sale process progresses over the coming weeks.”
