Ian had worked at Lincolnshire County Council since 1993.

He was the business and public protection manager at the council at the time of his death.

Sara Barry, Head of Safer Communities at the county council, previously paid tribute to Ian’s commitment to the authority over the last few decades.

She said: “Ian was an absolute pleasure to work with and was a dedicated and long-serving member of our Trading Standards team at the council.

“He was energetic, hard-working and the ultimate professional.

“But more than that, he was a kind and caring man, an asset to the team and a joy to be around.

“He had worked in Trading Standards for over 30 years and was absolutely committed to protecting the public.”

A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail until June 30.

Officers are continuing to investigate the crash and are appealing for anyone who witnessed it or who has dashcam footage to contact them on 101, quoting incident 137 of March 9.
