A 48-year-old Lincoln man has been charged with two attempted robberies in Lincoln city centre this week.

Paul Norton from Princess Street, Lincoln has been kept in custody and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court this morning facing charges relating to offences on Monday, April 24.

As reported at the time, a man walked into Martins newsagents on Sincil Street. He stated he had a gun and demanded money from shop staff. Police said however that no weapon was seen.

Shortly afterwards a man matching the same description was reported to have grabbed a woman from behind on the steps leading from the High Street to the Glory Hole area, towards the Brayford Pool.
