A man has been charged following a fatal crash near Grantham.

Kenneth Wallace, a 53-year-old man from Stibbington, Cambridgeshire, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report a road accident on the A1 Grantham on September 13, 2016.

As previously reported, 17-year-old Calum Warrilow tragically died after a car knocked him off his scooter before driving away from the scene.

The fatal crash saw a vehicle collide with the teenage biker, who was riding on the northbound carriageway of the A1 at Barrowby, near Grantham at around 10pm on Tuesday, September 13.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that the vehicles involved were a Mercedes Benz car, an orange moped and a DAF articulated lorry.

Officers arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on Wednesday, September 14.

Wallace will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on April 6 at 10am.
