A German bierkeller and restaurant will bring a slice of Munich culture to Lincoln next month.
Following an investment of between £300,000 and £400,000, the Original Bierkeller will officially open on Silver Street in the former Forum Wetherspoons restaurant, bringing around 150 jobs to the city.
The German-style beer hall will officially open its doors on Thursday, June 8, with the Bavarian Stollers live Oompah Band show taking place on the launch weekend (June 9 and 10).
The beer hall will be full of German traditions with:
Steins
Oompah Bands
Bratwurst
Haxen
Lederhosen
The Original Bierkeller, which has a sister venue in Sheffield, hopes the Lincoln venue will have all the spills and thrills to inject a German spark into the city’s late night and restaurant economy.
Here is what you can expect:
Matt Winterbottom previously told The Lincolnite: “People can expect quiz nights hosted by people from either The Chaseand Eggheads, rock and roll bingo nights, which are interactive music based bingo nights and then every Friday and Saturday night we will have an oompah band.
“It’s really good fun and the best thing is people get to meet other people.
“People can make new friends and have a really really good, fun night out.”

Carole Glover’s transformation into a Brahma Kumaris over 25 years ago marked a pivotal turn in her life, providing clarity on her previous life experiences.
The spiritual movement was founded in the 1930s by Dada Lekhraj Kripalani, a visionary Indian businessman, also known by the name of Prajapita Brahma Baba. He then passed it over to a trust administered by a group of women who have run it ever since. After experiencing a series of visions in 1936, he was inspired to create a school where the “principles and practices of a virtuous and meditative life could be taught.”
