Thieves used a stolen JCB from a nearby farm to ram-raid and take the cash machine from the Branston village Lincolnshire Co-operative store.

Police believe the JCB was taken from a farm in Waddington some time after 9pm on Saturday night and that the ram-raid happened at around 3am on Sunday morning.

The thieves made off with the cash machine and severely damaged the structure of the store.

This is just the latest in a series of ram-raids in Lincolnshire in recent months, where police are still looking to identify the culprits.

Shops in Donington and Woodhall Spa were previously targeted, as well as botched attempts in Skellinghorpe and Morton (near Gainsborough) stores.
