A man has been arrested after a victim was found with head injuries following an assault in Grimsby.

Police were called shortly before 5am on Sunday, July 23 to The Bank pub on Bethlehem Street following reports of a man sustaining head injuries during an assault.

A 27 year-old Grimsby man was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He has subsequently been released from police custody under investigation.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the incident and would ask for anyone who saw anything that would help us with our enquiries to contact us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 141 of July 23.”
