Woman sexually assaulted by persistent attacker on Lincoln street

High Street attack: A man persistently sexually assaulted a woman on Lincoln High Street in the early hours of the morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was sexually assaulted by a man on Lincoln High Street.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was near to The Works just after 3am on Monday, August 28 when she was approached by a stranger.

Police said the man spoke to her and then sexually assaulted her.

A spokesperson said: “She managed to escape but he was persistent and tried to assault her again.

“This happened at around 3.10am. It is believed the offender may have then harassed other women in the area.

“Two men came to the victim’s assistance and we need them to get in touch with us.

“They told the victim they were from Newark.

“We are also interested in hearing from any women who may have been harassed by the same man.”

The suspect is described as black, in his mid 30s, of a slim build, 6ft tall with short black hair, a short beard and a moustache.

He was wearing a black and red checked shirt.
