Dog owners to be given free poo bags in Boston

500 dispensers are available.

Canine owners are being handed out free dog poo bag dispensers across Boston to stop people leaving mess around the town.

Organised by Boston Big Local and Boston Borough Council, 500 dispensers have been made available across the town to encourage owners to clean up their pet’s mess.

The dog poo bags are available at the council reception

The dispensers, all come with a roll of bags, can be refilled and have a handy clip to attach onto dog leads and are available from the Boston Borough Council’s main reception.

This initiative goes alongside the council’s new rule that dog walkers in the town found without a poo bag could be given a £100 fine.

Christine Drake and her dog Jack approve of the scheme.

Richard Tory, of Boston Big Local, said: “There are many obvious reasons why people should clean up after their dogs and this initiative fits one of Boston Big Local’s themes of helping make the local environment more attractive.

“There’s nothing attractive about a pile of dog mess left where people can see it and, worse, step into it.”
