A weather warning has been issued.

Snow and ice has been forecast for large parts of Lincolnshire this week, with residents urged to stay safe and expect some disruption.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning valid from 6pm on Wednesday until 11am on Thursday, forecasting icy patches on some untreated roads in the county.

There is the potential for wintry showers but snow should only settle on ground above 100 metres.

Areas affected in the county include everywhere east of Lincoln, taking in Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Boston, Skegness and Spalding.

Following this, light snow and sleet is forecast from 2pm on Thursday, heading into the early hours of Friday morning.
