Man ‘trying car door handles’ in Boston seriously injured after two altercations in single night

Police are investigating.

A man in his 40s is in a serious condition in hospital after two altercations in a single evening in Boston.

The victim was seen on Spilsby Road near The Mill Inn when he was involved in the first incident with a member of the public at 11.27pm on Saturday, December 2.

Lincolnshire Police have said that the victim was believed to have been trying car door handles.

Under two hours later, at 1.10am on Sunday, December 3, the man sustained a serious facial injury outside The Rectory on Skirbeck Road and was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

He has now been transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a very serious condition.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating who this injured man was as it is not yet known.

“We need to hear from anyone that was in either area at these times, or who has information about what happened.
