Yellow warnings for snow and ice will be in place going into the weekend, with plenty of cloud and limited bright spells expected, the Met Office warned.
According to the Met Office the temperature from midday on Friday will mainly be at 0° on what is set to be another cold, blustery day, dipping to -1° at 11pm.
Snow showers are likely overnight from around 1am until around 7am on Saturday, March 3.
There could be some brighter spells with a few snow flurries moving in from the east at times.
A yellow warning of ice is in place for Saturday 0.05am to 9am starting with cold temperatures of -1°and a 50% chance of some snow showers in the early hours of the morning.
The temperature should improve slightly and hover between 0° and 1° for most of the day, but it will remain cold and breezy.
Sunday looks better with temperatures slowly starting to recover. between 1° and 4° with 3pm the peak time.
Travel delays on the roads are expected along with some delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.
