Resurfacing works set for two Lincoln villages next week

A week of road repairs set for Aubourn and Haddington

Resurfacing works and repairs will start next week on two well-used routes in Auborn and Haddington.

Worn out sections of the carriageway on the C162 South Hykeham Road in Haddington will be replaced on Tuesday, May 8.

The improvement works are expected to take two days to complete.

Work to reconstruct the junction of the C103 Church Road, Bridge Road and Bassingham Road in Aubourn will commence on Thursday, May 10.

The works will take place over three nights with the road closed between 7pm and 6am each evening.

Local diversions will be in place at each site for the duration of the works.

Programme leader for surfacing and patching at the county council, Mark Heaton, said: “Both these routes are heavily used by HGVs and have suffered a lot of wear and tear over the years, so we’re going in to replace the sections that are beginning to fail.

“We’re doing all we can to get the works done quickly and with as little disruption as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would encourage drivers to use alternative routes where possible.”
