This is where the Lincoln Boots is moving to

Plans have gone in for the former BHS shop.

The shop unit formerly occupied by BHS is finally due to reopen as a new Boots pharmacy and cosmetics store.

The current High Street Boots store will move from its current location across the road to the unit, which has been empty since the collapse of British Home Stores in August 2016.

To Let signs have appeared above the High Street Boots store.

The BHS store was on the market with Green & Partners LLP as two separate units, 3,741 square foot to let at £270,000 and 4,330 square foot at £290,000 per annum.

Plans submitted to the City of Lincoln Council show designs for new shop fronts on both the High Street and St Benedict’s Square entrances of the shop.

Alliance Boots the Chemist said in the design and access statement for the proposals: “Boots are to relocate into the old BHS store which is within 50m of the existing store, on the opposite side of the High Street.”

The application also states that there will be little structural differences to the shop, but that doorways would be brought forward to “reduce, if not eliminate, the number of people sleeping within the Boots entrance”.

The 11,436 square foot Boots High Street unit is now being advertised on the market at £375,000 per annum with Savills.

The date of the planned move is not yet known.
