An ambulance rushed to the scene after a man collapsed at a gym in Lincoln.
The man in his 60s is believed to have collapsed whilst on a treadmill at Total Fitness UK gym off Kingsley Road.
Eyewitnesses praised those who helped and gave CPR at the scene.
They said the on-site defibrillator was used and he was taken to Lincoln County Hospital by ambulance for further care.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12:18pm to an incident at Total Fitness UK on Kingsley Road, Lincoln.
“The caller reported a patient who was unconscious and not breathing.
“We sent a paramedic on car, a double crewed ambulance and the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance medical car.
“One patient was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for further care.”
EMAS added that any premises’ with a defibrillator should register it with the ambulance service by contacting [email protected].
A an eyewitness at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “A man has had a cardiac arrest at Total Fitness.
“An ambulance and first responders arrived in short time and a defibrillator was needed. A man in his 60s needed CPR. They needed to clear the gym floor.”
