Elderly man dies after car and tipper lorry crash

A man in his 70s has sadly died

An elderly man has died after a serious collision with a tipper lorry in the village of Langworth near Lincoln.

The crash happened at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, May 22 on the A158 Langworth near to the rail crossing.

A red Kia Ceed collided with a Mercedes tipper lorry.

The driver of the Kia, a 76-year-old man from Mablethorpe, was initially taken to Lincoln County Hospital and later transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham where he died on May 24.

The driver of the tipper lorry was not injured.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “If you were in the area at the time and remember seeing either vehicle before the collision or saw the collision itself we would like to hear from you – please call 101 and quote incident 248 of May 22.”
