New Imps training ground approved

Elite Performance Centre will house three grass pitches

Lincoln City has been granted formal planning permission by West Lindsey District Council to begin work on their new training ground near RAF Scampton.

As previously reported, the Imps applied for planning permission for the development of a new training ground north of the city.

The new £1.3m Elite Performance Centre will be based on a 12.3-acre site on Heath Lane near RAF Scampton.

It will house three grass pitches, gymnasium, changing rooms and staff offices, with the building work being undertaken by Njord Design and Build of Saxilby.

Head of Stadium and Operations at Lincoln City, Darren Curtis, said: “We are pleased to have reached this stage of the project and I would like to thank West Lindsey District Council and their Planning and Development Manager, Oliver Fytche-Taylor, for their support on behalf of the football club and we now look forward to seeing things taking shape over the coming weeks and months.”

Managing Director of Njord, Steve Jones, added: “We can now look forward to making a start on the project. These are exciting times for both the club and our company, and the finished product will reflect the aspirations of both parties.”
