Over 40 Stamford homes approved

A plan for 41 homes in Stamford has been approved by South Kesteven District Council.

Planning permission was sought to build a residential scheme on a brownfield site off Uffington Road in the town.

The project comes as part of a wider development on the site which is being built in phases.

Permission was granted for an 84 bedroom care home and 21 bedroom assisted living block on the site in October 2017.

Now proposals by William May Developments have been approved for four one bedroom, seven two bedroom, seven three bedroom, 10 four bedroom and 13 five bedroom homes.

South Kesteven District Council’s planning officer had recommended that the plans be approved.

A section 106 agreement for contributions towards health services will be required as part of the application.

No contributions will be required for local education provision.

In a design and access statement, the applicant said that the plan would help to provide regeneration to Stamford.

They said: “The development is desirable to provide regeneration to an existing and available Brownfield site, without detrimental impact on existing services and facilities in surrounding area.

“It will provides transient and perpetual economic growth and social consolidation and mobility to Stamford.”
