Lincolnite of the week: Debbie Grant – From hospitals to hospitality

She has also filmed for ‘Four in the Bed’

Using her love of caring for people, former paramedic Debbie Grant created a cosy retreat in Lincoln that’s soon to appear on the Four in a Bed TV show.

Lincoln Holiday Retreat is based on Pig Lane, off Skellingthorpe Road, and includes a lodge, a house and a cottage, with a total of five bedrooms.

The first year and a half has gone well and Debbie is looking forward to seeing her television debut on screens after spending two weeks filming with Channel Four for ‘Four in a Bed’ across the country.

The air date is not yet known.

Debbie told The Lincolnite: “It was what I expected it to be on such a popular show, it was more fun than I expected. It was hard work, they were long days, but I met some great people and I’ve made some really good friends from it.”

Between Debbie and her holiday bookings manager Keiron they have over 60 years experience from working in the NHS.

She added: “I was the first paramedic to have a baby and stay working and Kieron was the only paramedic team leader county wide.

“From 1988 to today women have taken a firm leadership role in the work place and this in my opinion improves patient experience.

“I’ve gone from hospitals to hospitality. I think there’s a lot of similarities and I think that what makes this place extra special is we’ve taken that caring attitude and we’ve put it into a model of Lincoln Holiday Retreat that works.”
