Lincolnites of the week: Karly and Makayla, the snow hero sisters

The girls are now taking on a new challenge

Lincoln sisters Karly (8) and Makayla (10) Dimaio were hailed as snow heroes when the ‘Beast from the East’ hit Lincolnshire earlier this year, now they are taking on a new challenge.

The sisters battled the ‘Beast from the East’ to deliver supplies to elderly neighbours and help clear pathways.

In recognition of their work, Lincolnshire Police awarded them with a ‘Snow Heroes’ award for all of their efforts.

Now the girls are doing a muddy run on July 14 at the Lincolnshire Showground in memory of their Grandma Coggan – who passed away after battling throat cancer.

The pair hope to raise £500 for Cancer Research UK, and have already reached £50 towards their goal.

If you want to chip in with the fundraising, then visit the girl’s page on the Cancer Research website.
