25 years in business and still on the ‘rise’

Local bakery reveals how they have stayed in business for so long

A Lincoln cake store is celebrating 25 years of ‘sweet success’.

Bespoke wedding and celebration cake store Sugarart on Lincoln High Street almost closed down last year.

Since then however, and despite national brands dropping like daisies around them, the team of bakers continued to go from strength to strength ever since.

Lesley Richardson, owner of Sugarart of Lincoln, told The Lincolnite: “We have seen a lot of changes over the years. People like to come back to us because we are a family-run business.

“We would not be here today if we didn’t have such loyal customers. Our customers have become our friends over the years.

“I would also like to thank the staff at Sugarart who have been here for all of the years.”

The store celebrated with cake and champagne.

Sugarart of Lincoln was opened in 1993 by Dorothy Richardson and has been run by the family ever since.

To celebrate such a long time in business, they (of course) sliced into a delicious cake, and popped the champagne.

The original owner of Sugarart of Lincoln, 86-year-old Dorothy Richardson, even visited the store to join in with the celebrations.
