Final phase of Boston development submitted

123 homes would be classed as affordable
The layout for the final phase of the development which could have had up to 200-homes built on it.

The final phase of a development which could have seen 200 homes built in Boston has been submitted to councillors for approval.

The plans, for the new build site on Broadfield Lane, will see the last 26 houses built including new estate roads and footpaths.

A report before the council notes several key points, including that allotment land in the original agreement would be better used as access to the construction site.

Alan Finch, from Moulton Land and Planning, on behalf of applicant Griffin Portfolios, said in his report: “This Reserved Matters submission is the final phase of development under the Outline Consent for the site and is considered to be extremely straightforward.”

The first two phases have already been completed following the outline application for unto 200 homes being granted in 2013, with the third approved in June and due to begin shortly. This will bring the number of houses built so far to 156.

A total of 123 of those, delivered in phases one and two, were designed to be affordable – which the applicant considers is enough for the overall site.

The properties are planned to be three-bedroomed and formed of semi-detached and terraced houses. Each home will have two parking spaces.

The developers have also decided not to link the new estate to Matthew Flinders way to mitigate the impact on existing residents.
