Police hunt for ‘beanie burglar’ after Cleethorpes incident

Police are also looking for a second man

An elderly resident was disturbed by two men during an attempted burglary last month and police have released an e-fit and CCTV image of people they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The 72-year-old occupant of the house was disturbed by the suspects who had peered through his window before trying to break a door handle on the Belvoir Park estate in Cleethorpes at around 7.45pm on Friday, September 29.

The victim shouted at the men who ran off before they managed to get in the house.

The suspect represented in the e-fit has been described as white, stocky and aged between 25 and 30. He was wearing a dark beanie hat, glasses, a dark jacket and had something pulled over his chin.

The CCTV image of the other suspect is very low resolution, police said, but anyone who recognises either man or has information about the incident should contact police on 101 quoting 16/103727/18.

It can also be reported anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
