£5m business park to bring ‘thriving employment’ to Grantham

Plans approved

A £5 million business park plan in Grantham has been approved in a bid to help “thriving employment” in the town.

Mill Developments lodged the plans to build a petrol station, drive-through coffee shop, two food outlets and office buildings at the junction of Harlaxton Road and Trent Road.
Around 133 parking spaces are also included in the plans.

Now, the 4.7 acre mixed use site has been been approved by South Kesteven District Council’s Development Management committee.

The authority’s regeneration arm, InvestSK, said the plan will “contribute hugely to developing a thriving employment and spend” in Grantham.

Applicants said in their plans: “The site has a long-standing allocation for employment development purposes, but has now become truly available for comprehensive development.

“Direct employment from the development is estimated to be 75 full time equivalent jobs, of which 37 full time equivalent jobs are estimated to be new jobs created for the economy.

“Additionally, construction is estimated to result in an additional 10 full time equivalent jobs.”

Meanwhile, Councillor Adam Stokes said he was “delighted” with the proposal.

“I think it’s a fantastic investment for Grantham,” he said.

“It’s bringing jobs and redeveloping a site that needs it.

“I am delighted that we are getting this opportunity in the town.”
