Lincoln volunteers clean up bags of river rubbish

Great team work!

A team of volunteers spent the weekend cleaning up mountains of rubbish found floating in Lincoln’s rivers.

Marking the start of their 2019 campaign, the hardy group took to Sincil Bank on Saturday, January 12.

The team found chairs, bicycles, a buggy and a shopping trolley, all believed to have deliberately been thrown in the water.

Around 20 people turned up for cleaning, with passers by stopping to offer their thanks.

If you’d like to join the team, they are next meeting on February 23 at 10am on the corner of Sausthorpe Street and Sincil Bank.

Big thanks to all the team for their effort and great work over the past months of clean up.
