Take a flight over the Lincoln Eastern Bypass

It shows off the major project from a birds-eye view

Work to build the £120 million Lincoln Eastern Bypass is well underway and now you can get a birds-eye view of the progress.

A new flyover video has been put together, which shows the foundations being set out for the single carriageway, roundabouts and new bridges.

Drivers have faced a series of delays as the road is constructed, with the B1188 Lincoln Road set to close soon for 11 weekends.

Bloxholm Lane and Heighington Road will also be closed for the majority of 2019 as works progress.

The new 7.5km road is expected to minimise congestion in the city, but the project will be finished late in May 2020 and over budget.

Councillors also approved plans for the new £148.5 million North Hykeham Relief Road.

Formally known as the Southern Relief Road, it will link up to the Eastern Bypass to create a ring road around Lincoln.
