Woman in water rescued from Cleethorpes beach

She was up to her shoulders in water

A woman up to her shoulders in the water was rescued by the coastguard team at Cleethorpes Beach.

The Cleethorpes Coastguard team received a report of a female in the water near to the rock groyne on the North Promenade in Cleethorpes at 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 29.

The team arrived at the scene before immediately carrying out a water rescue operation.

One Coastguard Rescue Officer entered the water, supported by another on the safety line, with both in full PPE.

The female, who was up to her shoulders in the water, was quickly reached and walked back to the safety of the beach with the rescue officer.

The woman was then handed over to ambulance staff and police.

HM Coastguard Donna Nook Rescue Team, RNLI Cleethorpes, EMAS and Humberside Police were also in attendance, assisting the coastguard team.

Cleethorpes Coastguard posted on social media saying: “We wish the lady our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
