New snooker club and bar to open in supermarket

The lime green shop will disappear

Plans to open a snooker club and bar on the first floor of a supermarket on Lincoln High Street have been approved.

Proposals to convert the first floor of the lime green Super Lincs shop into the new leisure space were submitted by Mr Dana Omar and granted by the City of Lincoln Council.

They also included a two-storey extension to house two semi-detached homes at the back of the property.

Subject to the completion of a number of stipulations and assessments, the developer has consent to build a bar at the front of the building, facing onto the High Street.

The snooker area will then fill the majority of the space from the back.

The plans added that the green front of the shop will be removed.

“The development will change the setting and appearance of the street scene along High Street,” the application said.

“The proposed development removes the current shop frontage, which being lime green, currently detracts from the setting of these designated sites and the proposed new development is considered an improvement.”
