Great effort! Over 100 people clean up Lincoln streets

The team recovered around 85 large bags of rubbish

Over 100 people cleaned up Lincoln streets and rivers over the weekend.

Local school children and other volunteers all took part in the three day clean in the Sincil Bank area, which ended on Sunday, March 24.

They picked up around 85 large bags of rubbish and over ten buckets full of glass.

Fast food wrappers, bottles, traffic cones and even a prison officer’s tunic were found by the team.

“All these volunteers deserve your applause and thanks,” Nick Rawsthorne, photographer for the group told The Lincolnite.

“Over the three days, they must have collected over two tons of rubbish and ensured it was picked up and disposed of appropriately!”

It was part of the Great British Spring Clean national campaign to get the community involved.
