Posters will be going in the window of Gametronics over the weekend to announce the closure.

The store is merging with Game, meaning all staff from Gametronics will move across to the store located on Cornhill.

It is understood that the landlord of the Gametronics unit has arranged for another business to move in soon.

The store temporarily closed back in 2014 and underwent a small refurbishment before reopening on February 7 of that year.

It became the UK’s first Gametronics pre-owned store alongside another store in Cambridge.

Gametronics, a brand name owned by GAME, aimed to focus on buying and selling second hand games, consoles and accessories, phones and tablets, laptops and PCs, cameras, televisions and other gadgets.
