Gainsborough murder suspect released on bail

He was arrested in connection with the death of a father of two

Officers have released a 27-year-old man suspected of murder on police bail.

As previously reported, Jordan O’Brien died after an alleged assault at his mother’s house on Scampton Way in Gainsborough at 10.43pm on Wednesday, March 27.

The death of the 25-year-old father of two, reportedly with another child on the way, prompted a wave of tributes.

Kieron Walker, 22, of Larch Avenue, Auckley, Doncaster was previously charged with murder and possession of a knife/sharped pointed article in a public place.

Walker appeared in court on April 3. Following his appearances at both Lincoln Magistrates’ and Crown Court he was remanded in custody.

A third 21-year-old man who was arrested on March 28 in connection with the incident remains on police bail pending further enquiries.

Reports say that Jordan suffered injuries so severe that doctors had to amputate one of his legs while in critical condition.
