Woman hospitalised after A17 crash

Two, not four, cars crashed

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a two car crash closed off the A17 for several hours on Thursday.

Lincolnshire Police were called to the crash, initially thought to involve four vehicles, on June 27 at around 3.30pm.

A silver Dacia and blue Seat Alhambra crashed at Byard’s Leap, with the Dacia driver sustaining serious but not life-threatening injuries.

She was taken by ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where she is recovering.

It’s unclear whether the Seat driver suffered any injuries in the collision.

A spokesperson for the police said: “The road was closed for several hours as emergency services attended and vehicles were recovered. It re-opened at around 8.45pm.”
