Lincoln McDonald’s to relocate

The popular restaurant will close

McDonald’s has confirmed plans to relocate its branch in Lincoln’s Cornhill to another area of the city.

The news comes as speculation grows that the fast food giant could move into the vacant unit formerly occupied by Boots on Lincoln High Street. Boots relocated to a bigger unit on Lincoln High Street in April 2019.

The new location for McDonald’s Cornhill branch or the proposed date of moving has yet to be finalised.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Lincolnite: “We can confirm that we are looking to relocate our Lincoln Cornhill restaurant, however, at this stage we have not finalised the new location within Lincoln.”

McDonald’s currently has five restaurants in Lincoln including the one in the Cornhill. The other four are on Rope Walk, The Carlton Centre, Moorland Way and at Gateway Park on Newark Road.
